We got a call Friday letting us know that Grandma Baltz was being transferred from the ER in Pocahontas to St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro. She had been having a very hard time breathing all Thursday night. By time I saw her Friday when she got here, her face was puffy and swollen and she was doing better, but still really struggling to breathe. They told us that something was blocked in her heart and she was at risk for a heart attack.
Asher & I went up and visited again Sunday morning before church. She looked so much better. She was breathing better, had color back and was breathing so much easier. One of the heart nurses came in and told us they wanted to do a heart dye test and put in a stint to keep her from having another heart attack. They had told us she had not had a heart attack, so we are unsure if she actually had one or not. That was suppose to be Monday morning, but her blood was too thin, so they postponed it until Tuesday.
I got a call for Katie this morning saying that Dad was on his way to the hospital. He was suppose to work today, so that concerned us. He said G-Ma wasn't doing well. I called the nurses station this morning to get details. Of course this is her nurse, talking in nursing terms to a non-medical minded person. But what I basically understood is that her HNH is low so they are having to give her blood. Her blood pressure is better than yesterday, but still low (108/57). She is suppose to get a consult from a GI this morning because she is having blood in her stool. She is anemic and has a low potassium level. All that added together, they have canceled her dye test all together. We have to get her well before they will go into her heart.
Please keep G-Ma in your prayers!!! I will keep you posted.
