Late night trip to the hospital...

Tuesday started crazy, but as the day went on, it got better...and then crazy again! Jacob picked Asher up from school and then came and got me at work.... off we were to gymnastics like every Tuesday evening. About 6:30 my back started really hurting. I had to get up and walk around for a few minutes. Around 7pm we were eating dinner and my back started hurting again. My stomach and back would start hurting, really bad and I felt nauseous and then the pain would ease up. I realized I was having contractions. We went home and I rested for a while. The contractions were on and off for a couple hours. Then the contractions just turned into a constant pain in my back. I took Tylenol, used the heating pad, kept changing positions, etc. Around 10pm, I was hurting and nothing was easing the pain. I called my Mom and she said to go the the hospital. I called my doctor and he called and had me a room reserved and directions for the nurses.

So we called Joe and had him come over to the house to watch Asher. Jacob and I got to the hospital around 11pm. They took me to a room and hooked me up to monitors. I was not dilated and not having contractions (which I knew had stopped, I was concerned with the really bad constant back pain). After monitoring me for a while, they gave me a very painful shot to relax my back. It worked wonders. I was so tired by this point, I actually fell asleep. I was woken up by the nurse with another shot. I asked what it was for. She informed me that I was having contractions again. I guess I was still relaxed from the first shot, because I had no clue and was sleeping well.

The second shot did it's job. The contractions stopped a little while later. But the downfall...IT MADE ME REALLY SICK!!! I got really hot, sweating, very nauseous, it was horrible. After a while of that and the nurse realizing that it was not getting better, so she gave me a third shot. This was for the nausea. It seemed like it took forever, but it finally kicked in and I could relax again.

Oh, you only thought I was done... the contractions started again. This time, I was very aware of them. My belly tightened up completely and someone was stabbing my back. They were coming every 4 minutes. This was the most fun of the night and it did not help that Jacob and I were delirious from no sleep. Then I got the fourth shot of the evening...another drug to help the contractions. Luckily, this time it did not make me "as nauseous" as the first time. They finally stopped. We were so exhausted. Jacob and I both fell asleep. They monitored me for a while longer. They did not seem to be coming back so they told me I could go home. We left the hospital around 6am.

We got home and Jacob took Asher to school...then we came home and crashed. So far I'm doing good today. I'm sore from everything that happened. Adleigh is moving constantly, which I am glad because it give me comfort that she is still good, but really doesn't help me feel better because my stomach is so sore.

I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday. For now, I'm drinking lots of fluids and
taking it easy for the next few days.
